The Shows Netflix Canceled and Renewed in 2023

Netflix // Blockbuster

Netflix is a platform that gives us access to many shows we can’t see anywhere else. Unfortunately, many of them get canceled for different reasons, while others have more seasons coming up. Let’s see which 2023 ones have been canceled and renewed.

Blockbuster and 1899

Despite the positive feedback, Blockbuster only lasted on Netflix for one season. The plot of friends trying to save their local video rental store was intriguing and exciting, and the reasons for its cancelation are probably low views or high production costs. Fans were disappointed, but the show will still be remembered by many.

Netflix // 1899

1899 didn’t have a long lifespan either. Despite its unique plot of mysterious adventures, the show didn’t receive many positive reviews from viewers. Many viewers even criticized the lack of historical accuracy, which is part of why Netflix decided to cancel it.

Fate: The Winx Saga and Squid Game

Fate: The Winx Saga earned a lot of fans and views, but those things weren’t enough for Netflix to provide a third season. The show may not have met the team’s expectations, but it left a lasting impact on viewers.

This next series, on the other hand, was massively successful and it was no surprise that it was renewed. After the huge success Squid Game achieved, fans are already looking forward to season two, saying that nine episodes simply weren’t enough. Amazing sets, a talented cast, and an exciting and nerve-wracking plot left them wanting more.

Emily in Paris and Bridgerton

Emily’s adventures in Paris were super entertaining, and fans are not surprised by its upcoming renewal. The show is hilarious and relatable at the same time, and it made a lot of people want to visit the capital of France. Fans look forward to catching up with Emily and her friends.

Bridgerton is another series that was well-loved by those who love a bit of a romance drama. The production is excellent, the cast consists of talented actors, and the storyline is captivating. What more could you ask for?

The Witcher

Fantasy lovers were thrilled to see The Witcher not only turned into a TV show but renewed for a new season. The show is based on the original book series by Andrzej Sapkowski and tells the story of a monster hunter in a medieval world. Fans aren’t thrilled at the main character being recast, but they should give the new season a chance before casting judgments!

Many Netflix subscribers complain about the platform canceling shows before giving them a chance to truly shine. Many great shows were cut in 2023, but some survived. Here’s hoping that 2024 sees more successes!
